Biography
In 2016, as a practicing clinician, I had what many call a “spiritual awakening” – an abrupt shift in my perspective occurred. The way in which I related to everything, from my career to the people in my life, began changing. This transition informed me that I had some deep healing that I needed to do. I began exploring my inner-world through a variety of modalities: traditional psychotherapy, reiki, hypnotherapy, plant medicines, and shamanism to name a few. This process was chaotic, exciting, and uncomfortable at times; however, I didn’t have to do it alone – and you don’t, either.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Ohio. My formal education includes a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Italian Studies from Lake Erie College, and then an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in Chemical Dependency from John Carroll University. My academic background has allowed me to develop the many important skills and techniques to apply evidence-based practices into the work that I do.
In 2018, I completed my training and certification as a Reiki Master/Trainer. Additionally, I became certified as a Heart-Centered Hypnotherapy practitioner. I believe that through integrating my traditional Western training with my experience in other ancient healing arts, I am able to help individuals on a Holistic level – mind, body, and spirit.
How I work with clients
It is my belief that we are multidimensional beings with many layers. I have found it to be very effective (and essential) to learn the language of our many parts – mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual. We must connect with these aspects in order to understand and become conscious of our patterns, which may no longer be effective in our adult-life. I respectfully and empathetically approach clients with the intention to connect them to their authentic Self. Integrating modern psychotherapeutic practices with ancient healing arts allows us to go deep into ourselves. I would never ask or expect a client to participate in something that I wouldn’t or haven’t done myself. Wherever you are on your journey, I will meet you where you are, and, together, we will discover and apply solutions.
